College and Industry Field Trips
At Valley Middle School of STEM we invite students to attend various field trips where they are exposed to colleges, technical schools, and businesses in the engineering and STEM industries.
UW Stout, The U of M, St. Thomas, Normandale CC, Inver Hills CC, BTD Manufacturing, and Dakota County Technical Institute are all field trips the 8th grade Engineering students at VMSS have had the opportunity to go on. We bring about 50 students on each trip. Students are able to sign-up on a first-come, first-served basis. VMSS has also had engineers from 3M come into class and give hands-on demonstrations. We are hoping to continue this on a yearly basis. |
